Cllr Pat Barbour organised a recent life saving training session on how to use the village defibrillator and perform CPR. The session was run by Christian McGuinness Community first responder who told us that he would be running in the London Marathon to raise money for Sobell House. Hospice. A number of people on the course sponsored Christian and he has just sent this note of thanks:
“I just wanted to write and say thank you again for your kind support with the London Marathon. Despite a hot day, I was pleased to finish in 4:01:21. More importantly, I am delighted to have raised over £5,000 for Sobell House Hospice. The combined Sobell team have raised over £24,000.
Please could you pass my thanks and appreciation to those that attended the BLS training, as I have no way of contacting them. There were a number of anonymous donations following the session too.
